The Urban Gypsies!
Home

Our main feature is that we involve the audience in an exciting way that brings back the wild Gypsy Magic that is hidden in everyone!

This is at the Gorton Monestary, the magnificent Grade II Church and Friary building that were built between 1863 and 1872. The site's architectural and spiritual significance was recognised and placed on the World Monuments Fund Watch List of 100 most endangered sites.

Our legendary Audience participation can be seen here were the Audience became the Performers!

One of our features is that we rely on the dynamism of a group in perfect synchronisation for its powerful effect.

The picture on the left is in Albert Square in Manchester and the picture below is from a performance at the Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays as part of the Danceworks 2002 programme supported by the NWAB and DiGM.

Our 3 main features are Power of Unity and individuality, Audience participation and original Costuming.

Here we are performing to capacity crowds at the Glossop Victorian Fair. You will see the powerful movements of the hips by how far out the tassels fly out!
Our Group consists of the most amazing and characterful mix of people you could ever imagine!
